We started a tradition last year on the last day of school. We call it our "Last Day of School Ice Cream Extravaganza!!" The deal is that on the last day of school when the kids get home...usually before lunch time.....we eat lunch and then go to a restaurant. They are allowed to order any treat on the menu. It usually is a hard decision and they are so overwhelmed by the choices.
This year we decided to go to the new Denny's here in Tillamook. The kids could hardly wait to go. They scarfed down their lunches and were jumping up and down. "Can we go, Can we go now?"
I have to admit I was expecting them to order these HUGE hot fudge sundaes or ginormous pieces of cake.....when in fact they ended up ordering off the kids menu. Maddy was the only one who didn't order off the kids menu.....I guess she's just too big for that anymore. Maddy got a piece of Cherry Cheesecake....that's a girl after my own heart...except I don't like the cherries!! Kiley got an Oreo Milkshake and loved every minute of it! Nathan also got an Oreo Milkshake and made us all laugh with his "Milkstache." Kamryn could hardly decide, but finally settled on a simple Chocolate Milkshake.
It was fun to sit there and reminisce about the last year with my kids....there were some good memories and some not so good....but most of all I had captured a moment in time and locked it away forever in my memory.

Nathan
It's Nathan's turn to get "Blogged." It's taken me so long to blog about him because I couldn't find a good picture of him since our computer is still in storage and I don't have access to my pictures. Then I came across this one and this was "the one." To me this picture describes Nathan. This picture says so much to me.
Nathan is my 9 year old, unselfish, smiley, shy, hot tempered, cuddly, good at math, athletic, only boy, cub scout, protective, stubborn, friendly son. He Loves his family and would do anything for them, even give piggy back rides when needed. He LOVES sports and is good at any he trys to play. I'm amazed at how such a little person can throw a ball so far. It's hard for Nate to be the only boy sibling. He's endured many things at the hands of his giggling sisters. They have dressed him up, put make up on him, painted his nails, played house and made him be the dog. He's asked many times why I didn't pick a brother for him when I was pregnant with Kamryn. I've told him that we don't get to pick....but he just doesn't get it. I just keep telling him, "Having to live with so many girls will only make you stronger!!" Right now he just looks at me like I'm nuts!!
I Love Nate....he's a joy to our family and we would be lost without him!!
